• Audio Visual aids are used to improve student learning. Movies adapted from literary texts prescribed in the syllabus are shown regularly to students. The department has an interesting collection of CDs/DVDs of such movies.
• Students are encouraged to use internet resources as study aids.
• Annual Students Seminars organized every year where students of the second year present papers on a theme they decide on. Proceedings of the AnnualStudents Seminar is brought out by the department.
• Extension lectures are arranged where academicians from other Universities/ Colleges
• The department has a wall magazine E – Wall that is done by the students on topics/themes relating to English Literature.
• Faculty interaction is highly commendable.
• Student participation in all events of the department and college is imminently noticeable.
• Students participated in the Shakespeare Birthday celebrations organized by Intercultural Poetry and Performance Library (IPPL) at ICCR.
• An active Facebook group where alumni and the students of the department interact.

Dr. Nishi Pulugurtha of this Department is actively involved in research activities and published a number of articles in international and national journals and essays in books. She has successfully completed three UGC Minor Research Projectsand was awarded Associateship by the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla in 2009.

• The department is working towards increasing collections in its departmental library.
• A departmental journal is on the anvil.
• The department hopes to have an audio-visual room.
• The department hopes to organize a National Seminar in early 2019.
